@jab1 It reduced 0.2db after the clean. Mind you it has always been a slight variation whenever I refresh my router helpdesk login.

This is 2 minutes ago, a bit lower, but reliability is what counts.

Will check again at bedtime and in the morning.

@joseph1 If your mean the D/S SNR, that is not unusual, it will drop a bit when night time radio interference starts up, but hopefully not drop below about 4.dB, and should hold connection.

I still think your max U/L connection speed is suspicious, but that is a side issue at the moment.

TBH, I think your D/S speed is about as good as you can reliably expect.

@joseph1 Awesome. Cheers. Speeds are definitely within expectations for your line of between 5.5mbps to 12mbps, but upload speed could possibly be higher if interleaving wasn't switched on. Interleaving is a form of error correction which helps artificially stabilise a line. I can remove it but it may be holding back some drops so it's probably best to keep an eye on things first before we can be (quietly) confident making changes won't make your broadband worse again.

Not disputing what you say , @Gandalf , but my 'line length' figures are around the same, and my U/L profile is at (around) 880 - not 100% sure of it, because I don't need to worry about uploading.

@jab1 In my experience an upload speed of around 0.8mbps normally suggests it's restricted by interleaving. Looking at your line you do have interleaving enabled on the upstream in a high state (low interleaving on downstream)

"WBC 160K - 24M Medium delay (INP 1) 3dB Downstream, UC Medium delay (INP 2) 6dB Upstream (ADSL2+)"

INP refers to interleaving. I can switch it off if you'd want me to. Having said that if everything's working OK, it's probably best not for me to fiddle about as it may cause problems.

OK, @Gandalf, I'll bow to your knowledge, which is probably greater than mine - by a long chalk.😉

I don't want to derail the topic, but I must say my SNR figures on there bear no relation to those reported by my router.

@jab1 If it's any consolation I've been known to be wrong and there are people with greater knowledge and experience than me, some of them had trained me up years ago and still work here, but I digress. Smiley

The SNRM figures I've posted for your line are the target, the actual margin I agree and I can see are higher.

Morning Robin. Yes , this mornings looks 'better' but that raised margin so early in the morning is a little concerning. You may have to monitor it over the weekend,  unless Anoush is in at some point and picks this up again.

Wouldn't be BT running any manual testing at that time on a Friday (or any) night, it was the DLM.

Robin, whatever that BTOR guy did obviously hasn't worked properly - this still needs further investigation, although your connection hasn't gone 'wild' again -yet.
