Further to my Thursday comment about my inability to now cast, I have been told by a reliable Sony dealer (make of my TV) that HDMI ports need to have their software updated.  This is usually done between 12 midnight and 4 am when software updates are sent via BBC or ITV channels BUT you must keep your TV on standby to receive.  This I have never done and so he believes my HDMI port software is now out-of-date.  I have certainly tested the chromecast and it works on another TV, so it must be my TV at fault.  I thought this might be a useful comment to share.  Over and out! ... Casting : how do you know what is the correct HDMI channel on your TV please?  I was able to cast for a couple of years but recently it has all stopped and I am exploring whether it is the TV or the cast's fault.  I think it is to do with the TV but am not sure, any advice would be welcome.  Thank you. ...
