Many thanks - I'll respond via the Question.

My previous 18-month contract was due to lapse 6 June 2023, and was replaced by a 24-month contract on 24 May 2023. However, my bill for June 2023 reverted to a higher charge regime, and I suspect that I am due a credit. How should I proceed ? (the order via Question #234095413 has been closed).

Adam - update: have received another incoming call, this morning, and 1471 is now working.

Adam, These are usually OK: Monday to Friday PM = 13:00 to 18:00

Hi - I've received a message re Question [ 232431249 ] indicating that the problem has been fixed, but I've just completed an incoming phone call and unfortunately 1471 still isn't working.

Will, Slight change, but 1471 still not working: 1) Lift receiver 2) Dial 1471 - no change of tone 3) After 5 seconds, 'Dead' (no tone) 3) After 5 further seconds, change of tone (same tone as encountered after 20 seconds of simply lifting the receiver)

BT 1471 (last number that called) is no longer working - the last time that I checked when it worked was 18 Feb 2023. Everything else seems to be 'as normal' (BT Vanguard 10 phone & BT4600 call-blocking/answer phones). Is there a test or reset process that I could try ?

I last renewed my contract in July 2020: Unlimited Fibre Extra "new 18 month fixed price contract ... You'll change to your new package on: 06/07/2020" However, today I've received an e-mail from Plusnet 'It's time for your account review', but signing up notes "Your package will change on: 12/11/2021", rather than 6 January 2022 when the current 18 month term ends. Why doesn't the proposed new contract commence in January 2022, when the current one lapses ?

"Now you have a BT 4600 then you will not need to block spam calls that bypass your 1571 service, the phone built in blocker will do it for you automatically." - Understood. But why have I received another two messages from Plusnet (this afternoon), again without any prior instruction from myself: 1) "We've received your order to change your call features. The following will be removed: * Plusnet Call Protect We'll email to confirm when this is complete." 2) "We've completed the changes to your Call Features. We've removed the following: * Plusnet Call Protect"

Plusnet: FYI the erroneous disabling of 'Plusnet Call Protect' has completely erased my (extensive) personal 1572 list of blocked callers.

We've removed the following: * Plusnet Call Protect" This, again, is without my prior instruction - would you be able to investigate again ? (to re-enable Plusnet Call Protect) TIA

Alex - BT1571 voicemail is now restored to the landline (many thanks), and Caller ID also enabled, so: The BT 4600 phone message recording now appears fully operational: a) When dialing in to BT 4600 phone (with BT Call Blocking enabled) and no pickup - messages are left on the BT 4600 message recording system b) When dialing in to BT 4600 phone but engaged - messages are left on BT1571 Sorted ! Thanks to all for the various suggestions.

Alex, "Had these same issues occurred before you had this equipment setup?" - No "Additionally, now that the call features have been removed from the account on our end, has this changed the situation on your end with the equipment?" - No I am greatly concerned that the call features have been disabled as I was simply seeking for "Caller Display" to be enabled.

For reference this is what the BT4600 user guide advises (page extract attached)

"Only then does your phone ring... And reads out the caller's name... You then press 1 if you want to accept the call? Is that right?" Yes Appreciate the suggestion of discarding BT 1571 - will ponder (but BT4600 phone is supposedly compatible with BT 1571 according to 'Quick Set-up Guide' p57).

E-mail message from Plusnet this evening: "We've completed the changes to your Call Features. We've removed the following: * Voicemail * Plusnet Call Protect" This is not what was ordered - I ordered "Caller Display" to be enabled. Phone control panel now says: "An error has occurred There's currently an issue with your account, meaning you can't make any changes to your services. Give us a call on 0800 432 0200 and we'll see if we can help." But 0800 432 0200 is now closed.

Apologies - correction: 2. Caller display not working - Request submitted, due for implementation tomorrow.

I bought a BT 4600 Advanced Call Blocker Phone earlier in the year, to be used in conjunction with a BT Vanguard 10 phone and my landline, but I am concerned that: a) the BT 4600 is not correctly processing phones having a Caller ID - e.g., it displays 'No number' when my LG-H440n mobile is used to dial my landline number (presumably the LG-H440n should have a caller ID), whilst dialling BT 1471 returns the correct incoming phone number. b) the BT 4600 is not processing callers wishing to leave a 1571 message whilst I am out - again dialling from the LG-H440n the BT 4600 just rings, after passing the BT 4600 inital screening message (NB the manual says "For BT 1571 do not set the answer delay to more than 5 rings.", and the BT 4600 answer delay is set to 5 rings) BT 1571 works fine for incoming callers when the landline phone is engaged. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Dave.

FYI Normal BT webmail functionality seems to have returned.

This is a useful tip, however after transferring to the f.o.c. BT Premium Mail service yesterday, as a Plusnet broadband subscriber, I can no longer access BT webmail via my browser. Previous login (https://signin1.bt.com/login/emailloginform) delivers a home page (https://www.bt.com/?wm52), but clicking on 'E-mail' simply returns to the same page. Also, Your Homepage > Premium mail > Manage your BT Mail > Go favorite mailbox, simply returns to the home page.

Matthew, "Does it give any particular errors?" No - other than not launching. This seems to be a residual problem, which I can live with.

FYI I've encountered a few more, but less frequent, instances of 'slow internet', characterised by an inability to launch Adobe Photoshop Elements 2018 (which requires an Internet connection). However, a work-round, with minimal inconvenience, is simply to log-off/log-on in Windows (maybe it's resetting a limiting parameter for the HH6 router ?). Also, I'm no longer finding that the fault condition is hindering access to the HH6 manager via http://192.168.1.254

18 Jan 2019: BT HH6 Manual rescan 'Separate Bands' for Wifi - 2.4GHz now Channel 6 (was Channel 11) - 5GHz unchanged Channel 36 and no obvious problems since.

PN Tech Support have suggested: "i believe that from the information you hve given me and the test i have done that you have a wifi issue. To fix this you would need to change the wireless channel to another via logging into the router. as this is not one we have supplied i cannot give any technical help but would go direct to the manufactures website" There is only one Wifi device which uses the BT HH6 router (Samsung TV, currently off), and inSSIDer Lite currently tells me: "No Wifi Adapters Detected", as expected. I'm willing to try the BT HH6 Wifi channel-changing suggestion - can anyone suggest an article which gives some guidance for optimising the selection. TIA.

"Sorry if you've tried this but have you tried a different device?" - yes, as part of the network, with no problem evident. Unfortunately, the primary PC (Win 7 Pro x64) is the only option for routinely managing the HH6 router.
