Trying to connect to Netgear DG834G

Hi,

I am tryign to connect to my new Netgear DG834G router and when i type in all the details it doesnt connect to the internet.

I use these settings:

Does your internet connection require a login - Yes
Encapsulation - PPPoE (PPP over Ethernet)
Login - attom@plusdsl.net
Password - .......
Service Name - Plusnet
Idle Timeout - 0
Internet IP Address - Get Dynamically from ISP
Domain Name Server (DNS) Address - Get automatically from ISP
NAT (Network Address Translation) - Enable

And i cant connect to the internet any ideas please?

you need PPPoA rather than PPPoE i expect

I'm no great expert but I think you need the Encapsulation to be PPPoA(PPP over ATM)

Mine is working fine set to PPPoA(PPP over ATM) on BT wholesale.

Have you tried just running the setup wizard, that found these setting for me.

The DG834 should connect automatically. I think you only have to enter user name and password if you use the wizard. See these guides...

Yes, should be PPPoA. I also find it's better to enter the DNS servers manually - 212.159.6.9 and 212.159.6.10
