Setting up non DHCP wi-fi

Hi all,

I need to assign a locked IP (internal network) but don't know what DNS or gateway settings to use so that it'll still find my router and internet connection? At the moment it's set to DHCP from my router-modem, but certain programs need the IP to be a static one on the internal network.

I have windows XP pro

Sorry for the amateur question, any help will be greatly apprechiated - cheers

Setting up non DHCP wi-fi

Hi there
What your trying to do is fairly simple to implement, try having a look through Buzzons excellent networking Tutorial here
and see if that is what your trying to do

plusnets DNS servers are
212.159.13.49
212.159.13.50
212.159.6.9
212.159.6.10

You will find your static address under connection settings / IP Address and your routers static IP will be something like 192.168.1.1- subnet 255.255.255.0 which will be in your router setup pages
