Hi there,

The FAQ and your reply to another user make the service about as clear as mud.

Is it a proper all-singing all-dancing internet connection or is it hidden behind your own "front-end"?

Thanks,
Tony.

There are no restrictions on the access that I'm aware of once you've authenticated. You might get web traffic forced through a transparent proxy, but I'd have to confirm this. You get a private IP address (See RFC1829) rather than a public one though, so some p2p applications may not work, and you can't accept incoming connections. You're behind a router.

I'm unaware of any port blocking, although I can seek confirmation if need be.

Yes, can you confirm those bits, and please add all the info to the FAQ for those people who want to know.

Thanks,
Tony.

I have confirmed that no ports are blocked when making outbound connections, although you do still get a private IP address making inbound connections impossible. Effectively, this gives you the same sort of protection that having a router on your home broadband connection does. This will be added to the FAQ.
