I have a pentuim 4 desktop which wont start up XP properly The usual start up goes ok then the windows startup with the green dashes crossing the page on a black Instead of going to the next stage it just stops and goes back to the beginning again. It would go on doing the same endlessly if I didn't cut the power. I tried "Safe mode" without luck, tried starting with last good configuration and tried the option to not restart with a windows boot error Nothing has worked. Has anyone any idea of the cause and possible solutions Thanks
Check the motherboard, processor and HDD temps. Are the all the fans working?

Someting similare happened to me last year, turned out it was 1 of the sticks of RAM i had. So i removed them 1 at a time to find out which one it was and voila!
