windows defender

I understand it is inadvisable to run 2 anti virus programs at the same time so if you use avast, avg or other program should windows defender be switched on or off ?

Re: windows defender

In a word (or 2) it depends.
Defender is antispyware and I've had good results running it WITH basic antivirus products. (e.g. AVG Free 8.)
With a more comprehensive product that includes antispyware functions it's maybe superfluous and may even be turned off by the product.
Or just use Microsoft Security Essentials.  Wink

Re: windows defender

I left it on and as Kaspersky doesn't object no other anti virus will either as it is notoriously picky
