w10 & Chrome issues

OK W10 is driving me mad.
Open chrome and enter a URL and navigate to the page, or just click a link or a bookmark.
Then edit the URL to change something, then press enter.
On my PC it then opens a new chrome window and an IE window, neither at the page I have asked for.  Crazy
This is 100% repeatable. Chrome is the default app.
