uTorrent to switch to UDP

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/12/01/richard_bennett_utorrent_udp/
Apparently uTorrent are to switch their torrents over from TCP to UDP which according to the article is "very very bad", the article tries to explain why its bad but its kind of over my head.
What does this mean for normal internet users, and also for PN's traffic managment system if uTorrent does infact change to UDP from TCP?

That's quite alright!  I'd already read the other topic so was fairly sure it was what you were referring to Smiley

Re: uTorrent to switch to UDP

Its open to debate this one. In very simple terms tcip sends a message and the other pc acknowledges it got it ok and says send the next bit or I missed part 5 please resend.
UDP sends the packet but there is no acknowledges so there is less traffic if it gets through hence speeding up everything if it doesnt get through then it can increase traffic. As with all computer stuff nothing is straight forward
To a degree the fast tcp http://netlab.caltech.edu/FAST/index.html which can let you download a dvd in under 2 mins try something similar
