speedtest.btwholesale gives eratic readings on linux using firefox

I had seeming lags with browser & reported fault after testing with BT Speedtest showed very low speeds.

I use linux mint ,firefox , all latest versions & the test readings are all over the place.

If I use the Google Chrome browser, still on linux mint - it gives consistent stable & high readings.

Same result using separate laptop, using linux also, & using different router.

Line has been tested OK by BT who visited premise. I usually get noisy line every 2-3 years, so thought same problem reappeared.

saw same problem reported on these forums by different user.

This is something Plusnet needs to look into, as it's part of their user diagnosis tutorial.

Try http://www.speedtest.net/ if you want consistency.

You could try downloading a Linux distro if you want to see what the true download speed is.

Bit torrent works best at saturating your connection.
