speed up a PC

I'm running a Kriging analysis using ArcGIS software on my desktop.
Problem is it can take 2-3 days to run (9 x 1.5million rows of data).
I've an i7 processor, the data is on SSD drives, OS is win 7 (64 bit), Ram 32GB the PC is based on an ASUS m/b
I may be required to run this process several times.
Any suggestions on speeding up the PC.

a bit of reading suggests it doesn't support multi-threading properly nor is true 64-bit so you may well be struggling to get any more performance from it.

what graphics card are you running?
apparently its almost as important as having the fast hdd and more important than having large amounts of ram indeed the ArcGIS support pages indicate that 8gb of ram per task but that the gpu performance will impact on how it works, also it looks like (from some of the user comments on esri support) using core affinity settings might allow your desktop app to actually utilise the full 100% core ability (it only runs on a single core) leaving you free to use the other cores for any other jobs you wish to run, oh and you might need to disable any AV whilst running ArcGIS tasks otherwise it might get alarmed about a core hitting 100% utilisation .....


*I should point out that I don't really know how the program works but I've browsed some of the support pages and read several articles, which all say the claimed multicore operability are misleading as they only apply to a single task and a single backround task (with each being optimised through core affinity to take full advantage of 8gb  ram and 100% or a single core) meaning your 32GB of ram probably isn't doing anything....

This is a fairly specialist bit of software, so I'd be searching online for other users, and a specific user forum if possible - most products have them.
The other users will have a much better idea of where the bottlenecks occur. And especially how to overcome them; there may be ways of "tuning" the setup for example.
Though monitoring at the simplest level with Task Manager can often give some good clues.
