raspberry pi zero

anyone got a raspberry pi zero?
i just ordered one (the W model), but want to use ethernet on it.
I have an micro USB OTG adapator and a USB2 ethernet adapator.
should these work with raspbian and the pi zero?

i'm going to be playing with pi-hole, which is your own local adblocker server (essentially a local DNS), so rather than having to install extensions on all devices this will block at DNS level on all devices on your network, well that's the idea anyway.

I have one but use WiFi. Pis certainly do support Ethernet adapters.

I'm also using Pi-hole and have been pretty much since it first appeared. Though I'm currently running it on an RPi 3.

 Your original question can be interpreted two ways - first being a literal "does anyone have one", the second being does anyone have one spare / available / for sale.

As its quite hard to get hold of them (or was the last time i looked), I also interpreted your original question as the latter.

and it's NOT quite hard to get a hold of them.

the fact that i clearly said in the original post that i had JUST ORDERED ONE, would suggest that i wasn't asking if anyone had one for sale.

Quick answer is YES. I have used a usbnic on a Zero (non W). I used it via a micro usb hub as it is a full size one that i have. PNP in my case.
I got a micro usb hub to cut down the cable size on the outputs, as I found an OTG adaptor occluded the power socket (removing the plastic case was better)

just wasn't sure if raspbian had the required drivers to use it.

You won't get gigabit rates though.

All the Pi I/O seems to be built around shared USB2.

it's a USB2 header and a USB2 adaptor.
don't know how they can get away with saying GIGABIT when USB2 maxes out at 480Mbps, and they go on to say "the maximum speed of this adapter is 250-300 Mbps.".

The driver is included on the Linux Kernel post 3.2

Raspbian uses a 4 series Kernel but I do not know if Raspbian package every kernel module.

This page indicates that there are issues with the Linux driver

and the driver needs to be compiled from source.

Just to clarify that @VileReynard appeared to think the same too hence linking you to supplies - i simply pointed out what i suspect he may have also thought.

As for availability of them these days, no idea i gave up looking moons ago as they were so hard to find. (Yes i did see your comment about just having ordered one - but sometimes people miss bits like that - me being a perfect example previously)
