"www. ... .com" is not set up to establish a connection

I have just hit a problem that is new to me.
After looking at a few pages of a web site, I suddenly find I can no longer do so.
I.E. says
"www.nerdoftheherd.com" is not set up to establish a connection on
port "World Wide Web service (HTTP)" with this computer.

Windows diagnostics just repeats this

I just clicked through around 40 links on that website using Firefox on Ubuntu, without any problems.
