Hi all
Just go a new cheap server
see http://www.ebuyer.com/product/128282
It say its has "Two PCI-Express slot (x4 and x8, both in a x8 connector)"
I am correct in thinking I can put a pci-e graghics card in by cutting the end of the slot and it will work a bit slower but still better than the onboard graphics that will only do 800x600 in 24bit res
thanks

Sorry I can't answer your question but I can suggest another option that should offer better graphics than 800x600 at 24 bit.
If you have a free PCI slot - consider a PCI graphic card, heres a link, like the PCI-e card this will free up some memory for other use on the server too -
