why is some pages are tabbed over  and the lines are very long
i.e.  http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,59696.0/topicseen.html
I normally use Firefox, but have also tried this one in IE  my machine (Laptop) only has a 1024 wide display

It's a little page formatting issue with the forum software, whereby it can't break up the URL in to multiple lines any more than it has already done so, so it just makes the page very wide to accommodate it. If you see such a thing, it's worth hitting the post's 'report to moderator' link so the mods can fix it for the poster. (I'll do that now for the post in question, but it's worth bearing in mind for the future.)

Because a link is quoted in full. It has no spaces and will just sit on one long long line, stretching the page as necessary.
