openSuSE 11.1

OpenSuSE 11.1 has been released today (well will be yesterday by the time I click the post button), has anyone had a chance to use it?  I'm currently downloading the ISO and so have to decide if I'm going to triple boot on my desktop (Vista/Server08/SuSE11.0 currently) or full time it on my laptop.  I tried 11.0 on my laptop but it uses an S3 Mirage 3 videocard which really doesn't seem to enjoy 11.0. 
My other option is to install OpenSolaris on my laptop, but again same issues with getting my video to work.  So, anyone used it and feel its worth the upgrade from 11.0 to 11.1?

I haven't used it. I'm happy to stay on the trailing edge with 10.2.
The latest issue of Linux Format magazine did a little write-up stating that 11.1 is more than a mere update 11.0 and then filled the rest of the article with a list of errm... updates that are included in 11.1. 
My view is that you should never upgrade just for the sake of it. If 11.1 contains software that fixes specific problems that you have with 11.0 thats a good reason to upgrade. If it doesn't fix your problems, you're usually better off staying with what you've got.

I had a lot of problems burning the LiveCD but 3 CD-R's later, I managed it. I can't imagine why the md5 sum failed twice as I've never had problems burning Linux iso's before. However, after booting the LiveCD I didn't see anything that made me want to install it onto the HDD - sorry.

I've installed it and am very happy, they have done something to the fonts and it now looks fantastic.  Previously looking at web sites the font smoothing etc. always seemed to let it down (or maybe its just a Firefox thing) but it just looks so crisp in 11.1.  Feels a bit perkier than 11.0 too, and as no propriatary software is installed, no need to remove realplayer, though why they installed it in 11.0 I'll never know, its horrific!

It sounds like they have finally done something to sort out font anti-aliasing and/or installed some true type fonts. For years TTF support was turned off in Suse because Novell, being an American company, was worried about litigation related to licensing issues.

I've just done a quick google and it looks like Opensuse 11.1 includes Red Hat's Liberation fonts. Which were designed as replacements for the Microsoft true type fonts and placed in the public domain by Red Hat.

It really does make a huge difference, there are small changes between 11.0 and 11.1, some are noticable (shortcuts on the desktop are in a "folder" type thing), I'd really recommend it to people wanting to try a distro with everything, except office 2008 support.
