seems to be fine again now.
very random
i found some old posts on goolge with the same problem but that was back in 2008 and again the other users responding were using iplayer fine at the same time

I found it slow earlier today - but all seems fine now.
Given that reputedly the BBC have one of the worlds largest web sites ? - I they must have a lot of servers to maintain. I would assume they are all in house and they have their own direct link to the net ?.
They did run their own beeb email  / ISP service for a while - but I think that's stopped now .
