Re: new printer.... colour management problem

With Linux, you throw the CD in the bin and just plug the hardware in.
Nearly always works - but occasionally it doesn't - so it's convenient to buy "Linux compliant" hardware.
My current PC doesn't have any drivers (loaded by me) at all.
Not even a video driver...  Smiley
So I have a true plug and pray system.  Grin

Re: new printer.... colour management problem

I have struggled with Linux for a couple of years, and cannot get on with it.... A lot of the programs that I use with windows do not have equivalents, or work with Linux under the WINE setup... Believe me I have tried...
Why do you always advocate using Linux, as though it were some kind of Golden Egg, that will solve all problems... when clearly, it just does not.
OK.. it may work for you with your limited applications, but there are many many programs and applications that are not duplicated, and therefore the Golden Egg becomes a bit addled, to say the least.

[OT] Obviously you choose your Operating System that most closely matches your needs...
Personally, since it's a few years since I last used Windows, I find it very clumsy to use.  Grin
I bet you are looking forward to making your Windows 7 drivers work with Windows 8.  Cheesy Cheesy
