What,s the answer,i use internet radio as our location is very bad for a normal radio reception.
Some times i get a message saying plugin stopped responding,is this to do with flash player?.
Am i right in thinking we need flash to run some things on the pc.

Flash is everywhere on-line. I have mine set to ask to activate and almost every page I visit including my bank accounts want the old flash plugin activated.

Some may have noticed that BBC iplayer has now a HTML5 player so you dont need Flash

I haven't - iPlayer just shows a black screen on Firefox 41 - other places will play HTML5 - but not the BBC.

I misread that page.
Normal people list the places their beta will work - not the places it won't work.
Anyway I normally download the programme with get_iplayer & play the MP4 file back.
iPlayer suffers from speed problems when it is streamed and occasionally I might want to preserve the programme on my PC.

I wonder if this is a problem for people who are running 64-bit Firefox Beta.
Adobe introduced their own sandbox for Flash a few years ago, but yet we still get exploits which can take over a PC. The 64-bit builds of Firefox (which are available if explicitely choose to download that version of Firefox Beta) have their own plugin sandbox, which replaces the need to use Adobe's. I'd probably trust Mozilla more than I do Adobe.
I've been running Firefox Beta 64-bit for months, on my home and work machines, and it's been flawless. The only downside is the more frequent updates, via the clunky Mozilla update (compared to the seamless Chrome), but everything has been rock solid. In fact, Flash no longer freezes, as it was doing constantly under 32-bit with Adobe's protected mode.
