I have used the makemail script for a long time, to email me the raw logfiles for my three domains each day. My other ISP does this for me automatically if I simply tick a box.
Has anyone improved this script? E.g. by:
- storing the temporary email data file in an alternative location
- or by incorporating tests to check the success of the send?
I so, I'd be interested to hear of success, and maybe see the script. I have tried storing the temporary file in my own space (by default it is stored in the system temporary directory, which fills every few weeks), but the script appears to be unable to find the file.
I am very out-of-practice with UNIX/Linux scripting, so any help would be appreciated.
