keyboards

i have a problem  Undecided
I recently bought a new keyboard from CCL Bradford  http://qpad.com/products/keyboards/mk-85/ Its a mechanical one .
The problem is recently it started to double key , IE i would get oo instead of a single o . also occurred on several other keys .
Last week i RMA to CCL who said they could not replicate the error  Huh
so i got it back , now i test myself again still same error , gave to my neighbor same errors .
return to CCL for test again , they rang me this morning saying we have seen what looks like water damage or moisture has caused the problem ??
I take great care on my desk and no drinks allowed , But i do have COPD which makes me cough a lot  Embarrassed  so they say it has caused water damage WTF  Huh
No way can i see that coughing can cause damage to a keyboard , has anyone any ideas

Re: keyboards

Agree Shutter , BUT is it possible that a cough can destroy a keyboard ?
Have already spoken to consumer advice  Wink but they are unsure if a cough is enough to destroy a keyboard , that is why i ask

Highly unlikely, unless you have a mouth full of beer/wine/tea/coffee ( not all at the same time though !)... in which case, the fluid would probably damage the keyboard.... BUT .. If it went to court, I am sure that a judge would think it unlikely, except in my scenario, that an "ordinary" cough, even 30 times an hour, would be enough to "destroy" or "damage" a keyboard to the extent it becomes useless.
I think the "supplier" is trying hard to find excuses not to comply with the trades description act, and the sale of goods act  and the distant selling regulations...  try quoting that lot at him the next time you contact him about it...
(even if they are not totally relevant... it will show that you know, ( how to bluff)  a bit more than he does about your rights as a consumer, and maybe that will just sway him ..... )
I had a similar problem with an old Dell laptop,... kept doubling up on odd letters, or in some cases would not print the letter at all... despite several "bashes" of the relevant ke.... I found a replacement keyboard on Ebay for less than £10 inc p&p... doddle to fit, after watching youtube vids..  biggest problem was getting the very small flimsy flat connector to stay in place in the clamp before clamping down.
