internet explorer restarts at start of session

on laptop using vista my internet explorer restarts. the message says something about "bex". googling says something about mcafee. i am using mcafee as part of my plusnet package. are there any known "cures" or "patches"?

I think "bex" is probably buffer overflow exception.
Does the problem go away if you run Internet Explorer with all add-ons disabled?
If it does enabling them one by one to find which one causes the problem might help find a solution.

i went into internet "internet options" and restored the "advanced settings". seems to work now.
