iPlayer causes internet connection to drop (MacBook & SpeedTouch router)

This is on both Firefox3 and Safari on my MacBook (running Tiger).
3 minutes 17 seconds in to several programmes on BBC iPlayer - radio and TV - my internet connection drops and my router restarts.
My router is a Thomson SpeedTouch 546 (firmware version 6.2.17.5).
Any ideas for what I should check/change?  Has anyone else encountered this sort of thing?
I didn't think this sort of software (presumably Flash) could cause this to happen  Sad

Re: iPlayer causes internet connection to drop (MacBook & SpeedTouch router)

Not going to be much help, but I haven't suffered anything like that. Watched hours of iPlayer stuff on my Mac Mini with no issues at all.
Is it just on iPlayer? For instance can you find a YouTube video that's over 3m 17s and watch that ok? Or are there regular drops that you aren't noticing because you normally just browse?

Re: iPlayer causes internet connection to drop (MacBook & SpeedTouch router)

It's just on BBC iPlayer - I've just watched a 10 minute YouTube clip with no problems.
It's only started in the past week or so - before then, there've been no problems.

Re: iPlayer causes internet connection to drop (MacBook & SpeedTouch router)

The same thing has now happened several times when watching "Dr Horrible".  So why would it happen with that and iPlayer, but not YouTube?

Re: iPlayer causes internet connection to drop (MacBook & SpeedTouch router)

Now I'm at my parents' house, and there's no problem!  Huh
Same MacBook, same Firefox 3, a PlusNet connection too.
The differences are that here, I'm on a wireless connection to the router.  And the router is a BT Voyager 2110.
Any thoughts on why I have this problem at home with my SpeedTouch 546 on a wired connection, and not at my parents'?
Any ideas for how to solve it much appreciated.

Re: iPlayer causes internet connection to drop (MacBook & SpeedTouch router)

I've seen a discussion on another ISP's forum about similar issues, also with Speedtouch routers.
