Vodafone has a statement: "Vodafone welcomes the arrival of the new iPhone and Vodafone UK plans to offer the new device to our customers. Availability of the new device will be announced in due course."

It is impossible to make semi-conductors solely out of Aluminium and/or glass.
Therefore it won't work.
