if you go with the Samsung ssd's they come with a free disk manager and autosetup system to adjust your OS for the best results, i cant say anything about the other makes as i don't have them / i'd recommend the 250gb 850 version and a usb drive for any excess storage requirements but that's me, you can pick those drives up for under £100 all over th place right now, of course if you can get a 500gb for under a £100 then go large Tongue

I agree this is the likely way to go. I was as in my op going to upgrade to 10 to get the licence then reinstall 10 from scratch all on a new HDD. If I don't like 10 I can then use the recovery partition on my original hdd to reinstall 7. For reference I use wsus offline updater for updates as recommended by reedrichards. It's a godsend when reinstalling
