google redirecting me to www.google.ch

Just got connected to plus net today.  VDSL connection is massively fast compared to old ADSL  Smiley
I've been assigned a static IP which reverse DNS maps to force9.co.uk (== plus.net??), and there seems to be something odd going on as www.google.com (which appears what Firefox uses for the search bar) redirects me to www.google.ch  Sad
Am I alone or are there lots of other sufferers?  Is there a fix?
Thanks
Dave

Re: google redirecting me to www.google.ch

Mine seems to work ok but I'm on a completely different IP range from yours.
I did an IP to location search for your IP and it came up as a UK IP address.
Have you tried any other devices to see if the same thing happens ?

That IP seems to 'geolocate' correctly as Plusnet UK - I'd not advertise the full IP on this (publicly viewable) forum though - it might attract spam or hackers - you can edit a few 'stars' or 'x's into the address on your post.

Re: google redirecting me to www.google.ch

I did notice that the IP resolves to:
IP 212.159.****
Hostname usename.force9.co.uk
ASN AS6871
Organization PLUSNET PlusNet PLC
Prefix 212.159.32.0/19
Country United Kingdom (GB)
Local time 2014/02/03 15:37 (Greenwich Mean Time)
JSON 212.159.****.json

Mine did a similar thing when I was first assigned it although my RDNS reversed to something sounding quite rude  Grin After a couple of days it all sorted itself out.
