Just spent the last 5 hours with this pigs ear of a problem and finally got a handle on it. Installed a new pc and did the basics first, so motherboard drivers/Video/sound etc and also tried to install LGS which would crash ever time on login after a fresh reboot. At that time I hadn't updated windows enough, which should have been my first priority but new pc and wanting to try it quickly made me not bother.
Finally the last update which fixed it was service pack 1. i googled this problem and notice it is a common fault for new or reinstalled pc's so just a head up, less haste more speed and patch windows fully 😕
