favicons

Can anyone help with a small but annoying problem.
THe favicon for Plusnet appears tro have been hijacked by B&Q. I now have a B&Q icon next to the Plusnet url. Whilst this is not a big problem it looks silly.
Can I remove this and get it back to the Plusnet favicon as I tend to look at the favicon rather than the text.

Re: favicons

What is a "favicon" please?
I looked at the glossary and it isn't in there! [so have put it this on relevant thread - but will probably get told off for cross threading! :(]

ps I have a orange Q before the community url.

If you look at the community logo then you'll see that it's an O, not a Q.

Re: favicons

@devlin
You don't say what OS you are using, but I am assuming XP.  (I've had very little experience of Vista so far).
When icons get screwed up it is usually a result of the iconcache file becoming corrupt.  This most often happens because the default icon limit is only 500.  You usually also notice the menus off the Start menu are very slow to open.
You can fix it by increasing the limit to 2000.
Copy the following to a text file in Notepad and then save it as MaxIcons.reg

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer]
"Max Cached Icons"="2000"

Notepad may add .txt on the end so you end up with MaxIcons.reg.txt - just rename the file and delete the .txt
Then double click the file and click yes to write it to the registry and then reboot your computer and your problem should go away.  You may have to delete any saved shortcuts and re-create them.

Re: favicons

Does it look like this - and is the icon at the left or the right?

"In The Beginning Was The Word, And The Word Was Aardvark."

Have a look at the o in community on the top of the page - is this what you are seeing?
[edit]  Sorry!  just realised this has already been answered.

Re: favicons

from a firm called  http://www.favicon.co.uk/
Quote
GENERATE your own Favorites Icon for your website and view a gallery of some of the ones that have been created.
IE7 is out and there's been some cool changes in the way favicons are handled. No longer are favicons requested and displayed only by the action of a user bookmarking your site; if a favicon is present, IE 7 will display it in the location bar.
IE7 also displays favicons in the individual browser tabs, matching the branding opportunity long enjoyed by Mozilla-based browsers like Firefox and Camino as well as the Opera family. If your clients haven't been favicon aware, they are sure to become so shortly.
