eReader advice, please

Last July I bought a Nook for £29.99 from PC world which, in it's own way, it's quite good for the price but it no longer really meets my needs and SWMBO has decided she can make use of it.
I am now looking for something more suitable:
The Nook is 6" and I could do with an extra inch or more (no jokes, please Wink
I really need a colour display.
The nook can't be read in the dark.
My main use will be to download all the Open University course work books (mainly pdf and epub files)..
Does anyone have any suggestions - my budget isn't high. Probably around £70 but could stretch if really necessary.
Edit: I can download everything to my Galaxy s4 Mini but it isn't particularly easy to read and navigate on a 4.3" display Sad

Well not many ereaders @ 7". You are more into tablets there.
The Nook HD is on offer I have heard, not actually seen one though.
I still use my Nook ST daily and it is fine for my use, I don't use it in the dark, just as I wouldn't read a book in the dark  Wink

Re: eReader advice, please

The Nook HD is a bit beyond my budget at around £100 mark.
I think a tablet may be a better option. Although my phone probably does all a tablet can do at least it may be more comfortable for long reading sessions.
I keep suggesting to SWMBO that she swaps her Galaxy note 10" for my Nook...

... so far she has resisted. I wonder if I can wear her down Crazy

for long reading sessions.

Be aware, that the android tablet I pm`d you about has only got about 100 mins battery life !... and then needs the same amount of time to charge from the mains... am getting a car charger shortly.!
so if looking for "long reading sessions"... you really need to find out the battery life time.......... Wink

Re: eReader advice, please

I doubt if I'd use it for more than an hour or so at a time so should be fine.
