driving me nuts

Hi guys ...
i wonder if you could help me out
when i run certain programmes i keep on getting this popping up on screen
for example when running  idsuite programme

      IDSuite.exe - Application errror
The instruction at "0x0067706a" referenced memory at "0x0067706a".
The memory could not be "read"
Click ok to terminate the programme
Any ideas what it is and how to rectify this as it is stopping progammes in mid stream and as i put it driving me nuts
thanks in advance

Re: driving me nuts

What operating system and service pack are you running? My guess is that it's not the latest service pack, as this is a problem that sometimes effected older Windows builds.
Update via Windows Update (or another updating service) and you should be fixed.

Re: driving me nuts

That could be Malware. Try running spybot or adaware to see if that gets rid of it.
It is also a system monitoring program that records your activity which may have been installed either intentionally or via a virus/malware infection.

Re: driving me nuts

It could be duff memory or a fault on the hard drive.  From a command prompt run chkdsk c: /f
It may say cant run do you want to do it on next boot if so say yes

Thats like bolting the door after the horse etc.... were spybot and adaware fully updated before you ran them as they need to be and have you also run a full updated virus scan

Yes it could well be amongst other things so give memtest a run and see if it finds any errors
What was the outcome of running chkdsk c: /f... did it fully complete with no errors in good time or was it very slow but completed or did it not complete at all

Re: driving me nuts

What service pack were you running prior to updating your OS? Only really asking to find out what the problem was Smiley
There's an article in the Microsoft KB about this problem, which was why I suggested the update.
Just curious Smiley
