dreamweaver query

I have working on old version of Dreamweaver 4 and with a website that I'm designing for a client I want to do some pictures as transitions or fades. Is there a version of Dreamweaver that will do this, or do I have to buy something like Flash as well? Or do I buy a plugin that will do the fades either for my Dreamweaver 4 or a newer Dreamweaver? Any help would be appreciated please.

Re: dreamweaver query

Well you need some javascript or php or similar to do that.
I've used Dreameweaver from Dw 6 through to CS3 but I don't recall what Dw4 can do it's several years old - 6 at a guess.
Your best bet is to go to the Adobe / Dw support forums - lot's of expert help there:

Re: dreamweaver query

Can you be more specific in your requirements? When you say fades do you want this to occur on load or on mouseover? If its on load an animated gif could be the answer. Other than that you need to use behaviors try

It doesnt say which version of dreamweaver it uses in the video but it may give some ideas. There are lots of free javascripts out there if you google it

Re: dreamweaver query

Thanks for your suggestions. I'll have a look at both links. In answer to the last question, probably mouseovers!
Would the latest version of dreamweaver have this facility ? I presume the latest version is the best one to buy.
Thanks

Re: dreamweaver query

Dreamweaver has many "behaviors" which use Javascript" included in it - but I'm not at home so can't remember which - and I don't have the lastest CS4 version - the only version you can but from Adobe.
As I said the Adobe ACE's over on the forums will advise very well.

Re: dreamweaver query

Suck it and see is the answer you can download a fully working demo version for a month from Adobe so download it try it and see if you like it before you buy.
Have you got any pages you have seen with the effect you want you could show us so we can get a better idea of what you want. It may be possible with style sheets or Sothink a@http://www.sothink.com/ may have something that would do it and again you can try there product before you buy there webscroller does all sort of things which may fit in with your ideas
