computer-to-computer via Plusnet router

My PlusnetWireless router is cabled to my PC running Win XP and is wirelessly connected to an Ethernet-capable laptop running Win 7. Until now both have used FTP (Filezilla) to access webspace and both have accessed (using Thunderbird for e-mail and using most of the browsers) the Internet, but I plan to use the laptop for all Internet work and keep the PC clear for off-line work.
Q1 = I will need to export PC files to webspace using FTP software residing on the laptop. What do I need to have and/or do (besides another E-net cable) to be able to send files from the PC via the router to the laptop?
Q2 = Sometimes transfer speed won't be important (e g for small files) and it might be handy to use the wireless connection to bring the files to the laptop, still not using the phone line.  Could the router be used in that way, and if so then how?

I don't really understand the question - blame it on old age
The way to do what I think you want is to have both computers on the same network and then, providing you set the folderr permissions correctly you can do what you want
However if you want to send files to the webspace via the laptop then you would need to either copy the files to the laptop or access the files on the PC from the FTP program on the laptop

I have moved this thread to Windows as that is where it should be
