The disk drive for/media/bigdrive is not ready yet or not present.
Continue to wait or press S to skip mounting or M for manual recovery.
Pressing S get's me to,
File system check or mount failed
A Maintenance shell will now be started.
Control D will terminate this shell and continue booting any further errors will be ignored.
From that point I can get to the desktop but I don't want to go through this every time.
I Do have a copy of Rescatux will this solve the problem or should I be checking something out first ?
Any ideas why this might have happened or is it just one of those things ?
Thanks

Edit /etc/fstab and change or remove the line for /media/bigdrive - you shouldn't manually mount things in the same place where the auto-mounter will put things.

$ sudo nano /etc/fstab. Edit as required. CTRL+O to save and CTRL+X to exit nano.
I guess if you want to use gedit you should be using either
$ gksu gedit /etc/fstab
# dbus-launch gedit /etc/fstab

An error occured whilst mounting /etc/fstab.
Would I be better just deleting Mint 13 and then reinstalling it again ?

Or if you haven't customized it far it maybe quicker to delete and start again.

sudo: must be setuid root
There is plenty of info on the net about setuid root but I think It will be quicker and easier to wipe my drive and start from scratch but it would be helpful to know what might have caused this problem in the first place.
ejs, mentions that you shouldn't mount things in the same place where auto mounter puts things but I didn't mount anything and the problem was flagged up when booting the system.

Quote from: gleneagles sudo: must be setuid root
That is weird, you should be added to sudoers when you created the FIRST account.
Wipe it and try again, maybe a bad install.

I have 2 partitions on the drive, one with Windows 7 & the other with Mint 13.
Must admit there was a lot of rubbish that had collected on the Windows drive so I was not to adverse in going ahead with a complete reinstall.
Everything is spot on now so thanks for all the responses.

Quote from: gleneagles Wiped the drive and reinstalled everything.
I only meant reinstall the linux part, but M$ does benefit from re-installing every 6 months anyway to remove all the crud.
