Your home networking setup

Following a discussion with a friend telling me I have too much time on my hands, I'm just curious if many other people have bothered doing anything with their home networking setup, servers etc.
My little shelf under the stairs

I'd love to see others Smiley

Re: Your home networking setup

My BT master socket has more wires than that!  Grin
Edit!
This is my front door.
Note connection of ethernet over power (to wall) + second ethernet over power to adaptor lugged into adaptor.
BT modem and Netgear wireless router just out of shot.  Grin

Re: Your home networking setup

Lots Tongue
In the cupboard is a UPS, Larger server used for file storage (4x2TB in Z-raid), Plex for media and a dev environment, smaller is a pfSense router, sam knows box, BTOR modem and N66U for wifi.
Around the rest of the house we have a Printer, MBP on Thunderbolt monitor, PC each, Sky, Smart TV, Apple TV, Roku in the bedroom and blu-ray player all wired. The only things that really Wireless is our phones, the iPad, her Alienware laptop and the MBP if I take it in the garden.
I'm not a huge fan of wifi Tongue

It also supports two plastic cable ties to hold the mains power in a prominent place.  Cheesy

It's hard to manage various lengths of cables going to various different places and various different directions.
I want some finger trunking to neaten it all up, but it's expensive stuff.

Re: Your home networking setup

Mine isn't that fancy lol, and I have a 30m cable running from downstairs to upstairs, with no tack or anything, just straight cable haha.
I'll try and grab a few pics and attach soon Smiley
EDIT:
Attached pics
I've not taken any pics of my router though - It's just a Zyxel, nothing fancy Tongue

My little shelf under the stairs

Very nice!
Mine wasn't a shelf as such but ended up turning into a small data centre of sorts for a while:

There were also a couple more hidden further inside the cupboard to the right at the time. None of that exists now as I kinda got bored with it and getting nowhere in the world of IT it seemed pointless being able to do all sorts of wonderful things for no particular reason so I dismantled it all.
Those were the days though, hard drives and cooling fans whirring away, multiple remote desktop sessions, virtual machines running all over the place lol
