No way I could choose a single piece of tech. If I had to compile a short list though, it would be...

Re: Your favourite bit of hardware?

My raspberry pi's one running xbmc media centre, runs all day on 5w of power playing music (via a small amp) & video @1080p (via my TV), the other built as a pi radio (with a 2x16 lcd display & rotary encoders) with 2 usb speakers all driven by a 5V2A psu.
Them and my arduino great kit to play with.
Otherwise any of my ebook readers couldn't live without one now.

Re: Your favourite bit of hardware?

#1 would have to be my Nexus 4 - despite the fact I broke the glass (what were they thinking?!) back on Sunday.  Fortunately, looks like that will only cost me £35 (and a trip to Watford) to get fixed.
Other contenders would be:
- 17" Dell XPS laptop - 3 years old and still able to play high end games
- ME Electronics Sport-Fi S6 in-ear headphones.  I have some Shure in-ear headphones that are way more comfortable and sound way better (but were way more expensive), but the MEEs are fine and more importantly, have actually lasted over a year while I had to have 3 or 4 warranty replacements of the Shures because the cables started separating from the earpieces.  When the last set started to go, I gave up on them.  The latest equivalent Shures now have plug-in, replaceable cords so I guess it wasn't just me.
- Samsung 7000 Series TV and Samsung HW-F751 soundbar - particularly since I got the BT Flex 500 Extender kit which eliminated the issues with dropped connections we'd been having using TV on WiFi (the TV was right at the limit of the router's range)

Forgot my Kindle! I'd be lost without it. Same applies to my iPod Nano.

First of all, 7up, you got very nice manicured nails Wink
At the moment I think I have to say the 20" fan is my favourite Cheesy On the lowest setting it's certainly helping to keep me cool.
I don't have too many gadgets but of all the items I have it's difficult to pick a favourite but, probably, my Galaxy S4 Mini is at the top. It's neat, compact, handy for the odd bit of browsing, reading and for the odd game to keep me amused when waiting for SWMBO.

Forgot about my netbook! Bought late 2009 / early 2010 and still going strong. Useless for games but i don't mind that as i don't play many. i often use it with win2vnc so that i can have an extra bit of computer power / seperate monitor while using the same mouse / kb on both machines. Incredibly handy a setup like that.

Re: Your favourite bit of hardware?

I have no favourite gadgets.
If something has a proper use, it is no longer a gadget.
I don't have:-
A mobile phone
A silly gadget to read a book from. Gutenberg would turn in his grave!
I do have a Raspberry Pi as a toy though - still looking for a use for it.

Thats just it.. a gadget can be for recreational use or to serve a purpose. Kitchen mixers are gadgets but they also have a proper use!
