YouTube enforced update

My YouTube has stopped working.
Or more exactly when I try to get my Android tablet YouTube app to control my Blueray i get a redirect to say that the app needs upgrading. I tried my Rasberrypi and the same thing
And PlayStation seems to be just offering the YouTube version I already have.
Most annoying. Can't find any activity on the web over this. What's going on? Sad

Re: YouTube enforced update

They (Google) have dropped flash support so the apps need to be HTML5 now. My Sony TV app stopped working ages ago, although I never noticed as I don't use it 😉
Got an email from Sony about it couple of weeks ago, saying sorry they are NOT updating it, as it still works on BR etc.

Re: YouTube enforced update

@HMB I've checked and YouTube is working on my LG Blueray using the PITA entering the search letter by letter using the remote so I think the problem is with my Hudle2  Huh
Edit/ my Samsung 3 Android is working too its definitely the Hudle2 ( which I updated yesterday)  Shocked

no, own goal by the people not planning on updating their client software.
moving from flash to html5 is clearly a move forward.

Indeed, the exhaust from my laptop doesn't feel like there's a jet engine in there with HTML5... Grin

I suspected as much (but didn't actually check) as despite having flash turned off in my browser, youtube videos always played without a problem.. well for a while anyway. Now for some odd reason it's back to flash asking me to activate it (though admittedly, i previously didn't have flash installed).
I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!
