In the window that appears type two commands - no quotes...
"cd Desktop"
"ipconfig /all > output.txt"
Send the contents of output.txt to this forum.
Finally type exit to leave the command window
"In The Beginning Was The Word, And The Word Was Aardvark."

Select the green "start" button.
Double click "Control Panel"
Double click "Network Connections"
From the list of network connections, use the RIGHT HAND mouse button to single click the name of the network connection.
This will bring up a list from which you want to LEFT HAND mouse button click on "Properties".
This will open a new window relating to the chosen network connection.
In the middle of this new window there is a box with a list of "The connection uses the following items:"
Scroll to the bottom of this list to highlight the line that says "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
Single LEFT HAND mouse click the "Properties" button.
Another new window should open, with a "General" tab at the top.
Select "Use the following DNS server addresses:"
Then fill in the boxes as follows -
"Preferred DNS server:" = "208.67.220.220"
"Alternate DNS server:" = "8.8.4.4"
Press the "OK" button, and the window will close.
Press "Close" on the previous opened window, which will close.
Then close down the "Network Connections" window.
Select the green "Start" button from the desktop
Select "Turn Off Computer"
Select "Restart"
Wait for the PC to start and hopefully it will miraculously be working !

[quote=bumbershoot]apparently I cannot send it as it is the wrong type of file!!!
Do you have a file named "output.txt" on your desktop ?
What is it that can't send the file ?
If the file "output.txt" does exist, if you double click on it to open the file in Windows Notepad, then <ctrl+A> to select all text, then <ctrl+C> to copy to clipboard, then paste this text into your web browser when replying to this forum (which in Firefox is <ctrl+V> OR <shift+Insert>).
Hope this helps
