I have spent hours in the past fortnight trying to extend wireless range for someone. I just thought I'd mention how user unfriendly the industry is. If you buy a Linksys AP then it'll only work with a Linksys wireless router, and likewise for Belkin. It is in the small print, but who opens up and reads the full manual when in the shop? Just thought I'd warn anyone reading this!

And often its not just the manufacture, but the model that has to be correct if you are adding a wireless range extender.
If at all possible use an Access Point with a hard-wired connection.
And sticking to one manufacture is a good policy.
I am off to the state's at the end of the month for some training on wireless networks.

You could just buy some UBER large aerials for the access points.. and for the clients using them that way it solves all the issues.
