Wireless dropping out every five minutes

Hi there.
Yet another post from a wireless newbie idiot.
My signal is dropping out whenever the "wireless" light starts flashing.  The literature just says that it is "sending/receiving data" which seems a bit ironic when it isn't connected to anything.  This is happening to both my laptop and desktop, and both run without issue from the ethernet connection.
Tried a reboot and it had no effect.
Any suggestions?

Re: Wireless dropping out every five minutes

try logging into your router and changing the wireless channel to somthing not/less used in your street if your channel is allready unused try other channels any way as there maybe some other interfrence from electrical gds ect.
i use inssider for looking at wireless ap's in my street http://www.metageek.net/products/inssider
and if you dont know how to log into your router to change channel then this page will help you log in to the router http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/frogstats.php ; and then just head for a wireless menu.
that is a quick step to take but it may not solve it and i would surrgest looking what protocols are being sent and recevied by the router just before the wireless dies with the app (cough) wireshark but try the simple step and see if it improves things
dont worry about the cough bit. its nothing sinister just that iam getting picked on lately for my love of the app from other members Smiley
