Wireless card issue?

I have a laptop with a wireless card. I appear to connect OK via wireless and can access web , email. Within about five minutes I lose the connection and cannot reconnect.
This occurs in more than one location so I assume it is not a modem issue.
An issue with the wireless card or something else?

What is the model of the wireless router you are connecting to?

Re: Wireless card issue?

Waldon,
My router at home is Netgear DG834G. I am almost certain it is not a router issue. I have had a similar problem in two other locations. Last week was in the Czech Republic on business. The Hotel had wireless access. Connected and worked for about five minutes and then lost the connection.

Re: Wireless card issue?

Simple things first. Assuming it a removable card
Update the card software and try the connection (if you can).
If not working try a different card.

BTW I think it is strange that your company sends you overseas with a laptop that you cannot maintain properly due to user limitations  Huh
