Last night, my laptop lost power (dead battery, cable fell out of the back). When I rebooted, the wireless card couldn't be found. Re-installed the programme. Re-input the security key.
BUT, there's still something wrong. While it will connect, it won't stay connected after about 10 minutes. And once it's dropped out, I have terrible trouble restarting it again. The laptop can see the network, but sometimes it's connected when it says it isn't and sometimes it's not connected when it says it is.
Our desktop is working fine, so it's not the router. Router is Netgear, and so is the wireless card.
Any ideas?

Is there any setting for the wireless card to set idle time out or similar? Some go to sleep after a bit to save power. You shouldn't have lost the card when it lost power

Problem now solved by a System Restore (wonderful tool).
Still scratching my head as to what the dickens went wrong, though.
