Hi
Just after some advice on how to set up my wired network.
Currently I have a dreytek vigor 130 and Asus 87u sitting on top of my kitchen units. The wire from the master socket goes through a wall to directly into my modem, then to my router and then to a port on the wall where it connects to a room upstairs to my switch.
What I'd like to do is move my modem next to my master socket and then it would plug into a rj45/cat 6 wall socket (I don't know the proper name) that would then go to my middle floor, and then connect via another soket to my router. Which would then connect to my switch and feed the rest of my house.
My question is would the modem to router connection be compromised by going via wall sockets? It's only about 20 meter of cable it would travel along.
Sorry if that not explained very well!
Thanks
