Wiping/formatting/deleting a DVD+rw

Using Linux Mint 19.1 ( updated ) .

Have got some old versions of Mint on DVD+rw discs, that I would like to be able to reuse.. but I cannot format them... delete the contents, etc...

Any advice Please ?

I don't think you'll be able to to be honest, as I am sure the session needs to be closed to be bootable and once it's closed all you have a place mat.

No... did not know I had to ....  I installed XFBurn.  and burned the .iso with that... . but it does not "undo" a burn ... not even when you select "blank"

so... where would I get dvd+rw tools from....  ? ? ?

Yes, it should be and is, provided that the session has not be finalised on the disk.

Re: Wiping/formatting/deleting a DVD+rw

O.K... Being a bit "dim" now...... but.... I have installed , from package manager,... dvd+rw tools...

I have re-booted the laptop... but I cannot find where dvd+rw tools is hiding...

Not listed on the Menu.... and using the "search" box at the bottom of the menu, it reports, No files found .

Re: Wiping/formatting/deleting a DVD+rw

A rough equivalent of Nero on Windows is k3b on Linux if you install this it will drag in a lot of libraries etc for the KDE environment (that won't get used in Mint) - but its a great GUI program for CD's & DVD's.

You install it using the package manager as per usual, but more details can be found at https://userbase.kde.org/K3b
