My husband's Win7 computer will not open Windows media Player 12 is there anyway to fix this?
I have tried system restore but that didn't work.
He can load Windows Media Player but it will not play any of his video's that he has uploaded from his video recorder.
I would rather not do a complete re install

Thanks Steve
I have tried both those options. The first one lead to me being able to open windows media player.
However It would still not open and play the the mpg files.
The PC is an HP Pavilion with an i7CPU and 8Gig of RAM
The error message I get is
"Server execution failed"
I can however plat the same file on my PC over our network.

here seems to be a fix for WMP
Free application Fixwin solves the WMP not loading issue in 1 click
http://www.thewindowsclub.com/repair-fix-windows-7-vista-problems-with-fixwin-utility
go to "Windows Media" on your left menu and click on the first "Fix". my wmp worked after like a charm !

and it is FREE.... you can set a playlist and also the graphic equalizer, amongst other things.... in the same (similar) way as with Windows Media Player...
