Windows giant warns security flaw exploited in wild, but no patch available

[quote= http://www.theregister.co.uk/2014/03/24/microsoft_rtf_vuln/]Microsoft has warned its Word software is vulnerable to a newly discovered dangerous bug – which is being exploited right now in "limited, targeted attacks" in the wild. There is no patch available at this time.

And later this "fix it" was made available: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2953095
Usually the "fix it" things involve disabling the affected component, in this case, it will "Disable opening RTF content in Microsoft Word". I doubt many people will care about not being able to open .rtf files.

It is a workaround until they make a fix

The fix is to install LibreOffice.

What if the businesses / student(s) et al has already payed (extortionate fees) for the licenses
Or they do not want another suite taking up valuable room on their machine(s)

And then loose revenue on the costs of the unused license fees
Are you mad

It's a zero cost option.
You won't need to waste money on future "upgrades".
