Windows Defender, should I bother?

Hi Folks
I am running Kaspersky KIS (which I find excellent) and have finally decided to turn of  Windows Defender as I can't really see what it would do that Kaspersky doesn’t already have covered. Does anyone know of a reason why I should still run both?
Cheers

Re: Windows Defender, should I bother?

Personally I like Defender and find it very good.
I've never seen 2 anti-spyware products that find exactly (or often even vaguely) the same things so I'd leave it running - belt and braces - unless they conflict in any way or add too much overhead.

I have never known it to find anything but then I have always had another AV program on the case. Have you seen it find items your AV software hasnt picked up?

On any of my own systems, not that I recall, but then I hardly ever get any Malware.
When cleaning other peoples infected systems, definitely yes.
