Windows 7 is completely broken - my laptop won't start

It displays a boot-time message to say that something has gone wrong.
It then does the pretty pictures thing, has a progress bar which says it does something very quickly.
It then sits there with the disk light on, displaying some wallpaper (and the mouse moves)
If I use the secret F8 option - was that from Windows 3.1 or Windows 95?
I get about a dozen different options.
All fail.
One even gave me the happy BSOD.
I tried a Ubuntu live boot CD - every works (even networking) whoever set up my virtually brand new (HP) laptop chose to format it with 4 partitions.
The first is a small NTFS boot partition, the second is a big NTFS one, the third is a moderate size NTFS "recovery" partition and the 4th is a tiny FAT32 (?) partition.
Ubuntu says partition 2 is corrupt and that I should run the Windows version of fdisk /f, then reboot twice
How can I do this (on a 64 bit machine)?
It's still under warranty.
Addendum:-
I finally got into a command line via something on the recovery partition.
Ran chkdsk /F on drive 😧 = C:
Cause:- apparently the NTFS bitmap had marked a piece of unused disk as "in-use".
This crashes Windows 7 totally.
It is absolute rubbish.
Wasted 3 hours.

I thought you were dual booting to some flavour of Linux so would not need a boot disc?  Anyway, could it be you have a faulty hard drive?

Ubuntu installed as a Windows app. was screwed up by Windows pathetic NTFS filesystem - it failed because Windows had marked the filesystem as "faulty".

do you have recovery disks or an install DVD? put it in the drive, on the "Install now" screen click "Repair My computer" that should give you access to System Restore so you can go back to before you installed WUBI

Thanks - but I got it working at the end of last month (see previous post).
The NTFS filesystem is most delicate - and rubbish.
