Windows 7 email client

Thinking of changing to Windows 7 but have heard of problems with their new fangled 'Live Mail' instead of the time-tested Outlook Express (not as flexible for one).
Would be interested in your thoughts and alternatives of course. Have used OE for many years.

I too used OE for years and when I got W7 didn't like Windows Live mail so installed Outlook 2007 which is pretty much the same as OE (as a mail client - it obviously has many more features)
However, as I use several computers I now use Gmail as your inbox is available on any PC anywhere in the world with an internet connection. It's much easier than logging into PN's portal and using webmail.

Thunderbird would probably suit you better as it has similarities to OE.  However, Live Mail is OK once you get used to it.
The first thing to do when you download it is to take the ticks out of all the boxes except Mail as you will get all the other stuff that you might not need.  Next thing is to reinstate the Menu bar at the top as it is not there by default. I think that this can be done from View but can't accurately remember.
The only thing that irritates me a bit about WLM is the time it takes to load the programme and also when I click on New to send a message it does not open immediately.  I don't know why because my computer is fine with plenty of RAM.

I had forgotten to mention that it is possible to get Vista Windows Mail to work in Windows 7 (the folder for it is already there).
I tried it once and it does work.  Here are some links just in case this is something that you might consider:
