Windows 7 - WiFi connectivity

Hi,
A Windows 7 laptop connects via wireless routers at two different locations in the UK, both PlusNet accounts, without problem.  However, when taken to an Internet café in France it will detect available WiFi services and even show that it has connected to a selected service, but it will not access the Internet.  Is there some Windows 7 configuration that we have missed?
Thanks
Peter

No, there is nothing magically different with Window 7 wireless compared to wireless on earlier versions of Windows.  Could you have been tempted into setting something fixed on your wireless adaptor settings, something that works for Plusnet but not for other ISPs (e.g. the DNS server)?
What happens if you open a CMD window and enter ipconfig /all ?

Re: Windows 7 - WiFi connectivity

Thanks ReedRichards for your suggestion.  The laptop came home with its owner yesterday so I was able to have a look at it.  I discovered that a proxy server had got set up of "orange;bearn", probably from an attempt to connect to the orange network while in France.  When I disabled the proxy, connection was re-established.
